Unemployment depends on college major

The unemployment rate among recent grads with a Bachelor's Degree is 8.9 percent.

Unemployment rates among recent college graduates vary greatly, and, at least in part, depend on what degree students have, according to a study from the Georgetown Center on Education and the Workforce.

Overall, the unemployment rate among recent grads with a Bachelor's Degree is 8.9 percent.

Students who majored in Architecture have the highest unemployment rates, at 13.9 percent, due to the collapse of the construction and home-building industry, the report says.

Unemployment is the lowest among recent grades with degrees in engineering, the sciences, education and healthcare, at just 5.4 percent.

Unemployment rates go down significantly for students with graduate degrees, at just 3 percent.
